More or less confirmed now (it got ok'd by a professor), I'll be doing my Bachelor's thesis on Silent Hill 2. This footnote will never make it to any real version of the thesis. Which is a damn shame.
*It might be difficult to get any ending besides In Water in hard mode, but perhaps that is fitting. After all, it is possible to read that ending as James finally being unable to forgive himself, and what is the hard mode if not the players being hard on themselves. HA HA HA HA HA.
