-no matter the series, Gundams will always look like big toys

-WHY are these women wearing skirts in zero gravity?
-holding my breath out for the day they'll finally learn that really, no matter the size, explosions in space do not sound make. Every single time anything in space explodes with a loud bang, I die a little inside. It hurts us, precious
-despite the abrupt revelations that will be made later on, Cagalli/Kira all the way!
-...reverse colours. Right
-in the end? SHINY. MORE

So they aren't explained later on either. (And just who do they belong to? Archangel's captain [whose name escapes me at the moment]?)

...Maybe they are foreshadowing for the naked-floating-in-air sequences I've come to understand will happen later in the series.

Well, it's mindless fun? SHINY fun. And the tension between naturals and coordinators is actually a very interesting thing to follow.
