Umineko no Naku Koro ni (novel), episode 1:
- gorgeous music
-Maria Jessica male Ushiromiya siblings everyone's done a million times better than in the anime. ...Not surprising, but still
- Battler is not a moron! Why did they cut all the actual speculation out in the anime! Especially in the tea party! It looked pretty important!
- "now that everyone I love is dead, I shall go over what their lives could have been if they'd lived, how I felt about them and also my headache from this morning, and a few pages from the nearest open psychology textbook as it might relate to them and their hobby of FISHING in a wall of text that goes on for minutes while crying a waterfall of bitter. bitter. tears" <-- did get a little tiring occasionally!
- change of narrator and consequent change in narrative tone in first tea party was pretty hilarious
- going over the character list near the end of the game, however, was fucking creepy. WHO'S MAKING THESE CHANGES
- I love how 80% of the cast the novel actually concentrates on is women
- I love Eva
- I love this icon

- tiny details that can make or break the mood. "Hello, I'm your Japanese protagonist and I go by the name of Battler" vs "Hello, I'm your Japanese protagonist and I go by the name of Battler. When I grow up I'm planning to murder my family with its strange naming conventions because HOW IS THAT EVEN A NAME." So yeah, sticking with the novels from here on
