Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials is not an atheistic trilogy. They have nothing to do with atheism, and are therefore not atheist propaganda.
What they are is a very clear attack on organized religion.
Organized, dogmatic religion and religion as a personal experience, while having a possibility of co-existing, are not synonymous.
And if you think they are, I'm heavily questioning your intelligence.

Mostly what vexes me is how people, whether religious or not, complain/laugh at how the books suck at "atheist propaganda" because there so totally is supernatural things in them! Therefore enforcing their existence! Ha ha, suckers, got you there, you just totally tripped over your own cleverness! To which I'm kind of wtf-ing.
